Turaida

The most visited museum of Latvia offers expositions on the history of archaeology, culture and art and narrates events dating back as far as to the 11th century. The collection of the museum keeps many stories – about the medieval castle and church, the Livs of the River Gauja, the ancient centre of the manor and Dainu Kalns (Folksong Hill).

In 2022, Turaida's historic centre received the European Heritage Label at an official ceremony. This is a special recognition for heritage sites and the European Heritage Label is equivalent to a UNESCO World Heritage list.
